SUMASESU SUPPORTS EFFORTS TO IDENTIFY NEW TOURISM ATTRACTIONS

In support of the government’s efforts to identify various types of tourism attractions in Njombe region, the non-governmental organization SUMASESU in Makete district in the region has supported those efforts by identifying Ihobwela mountain in Tandala ward as one of the tourism attractions in the district

In addition, 16 employees of the organization accompanied by 15 visitors from Germany have recently climbed the mountain and found that the mountain should be included in the new tourist attractions in the Makete district due to its structure and the natural trees present in the mountain

Speaking to our reporter immediately after climbing and descending the mountain safely, the Director of the SUMASESU organization, Mr. Egnatio Mtawa has said that the mountain has three different peaks with interesting stones as well as various types of natural plants

He has said that he has decided to climb the mountain with his colleagues and the guests who visited them from Germany, to see how the district is full of various attractions while saying that when you are on the top of the mountain you can see the various villages of the Makete district as well as Lake Nyasa

“Makete district has many attractions, I just call on the community to continue to discover and identify the various tourism attractions that exist in our district, so that the government recognizes them and ensures that they will continue to last and generate income for the district and the nation as a whole” said Mtawa

He said that among the visitors from Germany who climbed the mountain there are disabled people of various kinds, including mental disabilities at different levels, but they have shown high courage by climbing the mountain and coming down safely.

“It is my first time to climb this mountain, at first I was just seeing it while passing by the road and from its appearance I thought it was difficult for a person to climb it, and I also did not know if it has three peaks, I knew there was only one peak, I advise the in-laws to come to this side the mountain to see for themselves the beautiful scenery and the creation of GOD” said Mwaija Kisingile who managed to climb the mountain

Mount Ihobwela is located in Tandala ward in Makete district and it has three peaks with different characteristics and it is recommended by the stakeholders that the government looks at how to make it a new tourist attraction and the people around it ensure that they take care of its environment so that it can continue to exist
